孙雅各简历

孙牧师生于武汉，婴儿期间经由香港到达台湾，师大附中，成功大学毕业。一九七三年赴美进修。一九七五年与孙珍恩结婚，于一九七七年与妻子在纽约水牛城中国教会受洗，开始跟随主。

获化工博士后，孙牧师曾任职工业界十一年。先后参与强力纤维的研发与制造。有感北美华人精英云集，在学术界成就非凡，然而对人生的价值，意义和归宿缺乏认识。因此在工业界任职期间，在哥伦比亚神学院和美南浸信会神学院选修神学课程三年。一九九0年蒙神呼召辞去联合化学公司的职务，当时已担任研发与生产两部门的经理，负责将全世界最强人造纤维商业化，此产品当时已成为制造防弹衣的最佳材料。辞职后，搬家到纽约全时间修神学课程，先后毕业于宣道会神学院和福乐神学院。

孙牧师一家凭单纯的信心跟随主，全职事奉满了神的恩典。神的供应超过他们所求所想。家中的三个孩子都乐意过简单的生活，存着感恩的心事奉神。大儿子孙守圣从圣荷西圣经学院毕业，得到全国院长奖。加州福乐神学院毕业后，进入美南浸信会西南神学院继续进修神学。女儿孙守恩2004从史丹佛大学毕业，2009从德州Baylor医学院医科毕业，現留校任皮膚科住院医師。小儿子孙守望2009毕业于加州大学戴维斯分校生物系后，进入美南浸信会西南神学院攻读道学碩士。

神赐下负担，让孙牧师服事各种不同背景的华人。孙牧师现任基督之家第三家主任牧师，之前任华府中国教会主任牧师八年，在加州牧养主恩教会国语堂期间，他和孙师母每周到史丹福大学校园向中国学生和学者传福音。神也开福音的门，在中国、台湾、日本、法国、德国、波兰、巴拿马、阿根廷、加拿大和南非传福音，教神学，担任营会讲员，带领许多人信主。

James Sun

Rev. James Sun was born in China in 1949. Passing through Hong Kong, he immigrated to Taiwan and graduated from Taiwan Cheng-Kong University. He came to the USA for graduate school in 1973. He married Jane in 1975. They were baptized in 1977 in Buffalo, New York. 

After he received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering, Rev. Sun served in industry for 11 years.  The Lord blessed his career exceedingly. He was eventually promoted to manager of high performance fibers at Allied Chemical Company (now Honeywell). He led both the process development and manufacturing teams to successfully commercialize the strongest man-made fiber in existence. Spectra fiber later became the best material for constructing bulletproof vests. During those years of prosperity, the burden of lost souls progressively increased in his heart. While holding a full-time job, he took theological courses from Columbia Biblical Seminary and Baptist Theological Seminary. Later, he was moved by God to give up his industrial position and became a full time seminary student in Alliance Theological Seminary from which he received a M. Div. in Chinese pastoral ministries in North America. He also did additional work at Fuller Theological Seminary to receive his Th. M. in mentoring.  

Rev. Sun and Jane have three grown children - Samuel, Grace and John.  All of them love the Lord and are willing to live a simple life to serve God. As a recipient of the National Dean’s Award, Samuel graduated with honors from San Jose Christian College. Having received a MA-Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, he continues his theological study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Grace graduated from Stanford University in 2004 and Baylor College of Medicine in 2009. She continues her residence of dermatology at Baylor. John graduated from UC Davis biology major in 2009 and now studies Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Rev. Sun’s calling is to serve Jesus Christ by ministering to Chinese people of various backgrounds. After serving 8 years at Chinese Christian Church of Greater Washington DC as the Senior Pastor, recently he moved back to California to serve as the Senior Pastor of the Home of Christ in Fremont. He has burdened to campus ministry. While serving as the pastor of the Mandarin congregation in the Lord’s Grace Christian Church in Mountain View, California, he also started ministering to Chinese scholars and graduate students at Stanford University. Furthermore, God also has granted him many opportunities to lead short-term mission teams. Hundreds have turned to the Lord in China, Taiwan, Japan, France, Germany, Poland, Panama, Argentina, Canada, and South Africa through many effective short-term mission trips.
